Audience:
This is an introductory level workshop. The content is geared for transit professionals including planners, engineers, and operations managers that will be involved in the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of transit ITS applications.
Description:
The goal of this workshop is to increase awareness of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and how the transit core suite of technologies can be deployed to deliver safer and more efficient transit services.
Objectives:
After successfully completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the basic ITS applications for transit agencies
- Explain how to integrate transit applications into the Regional ITS Architecture
- Describe how system engineering should be applied to planning, designing, and implementing ITS projects
- Relate best practices for successful ITS procurements
- Identify strategic planning approaches for transit ITS projects
- Review successful transit ITS applications
Fee:
Tuition shall be waived for federal, state and local government employees who work in transportation or related areas.
